Rock Craving

Indulge us a moment as we lament over the fact that this craving cannot be immediately satisfied ... Here we are at Lisa Falls in Little Cottonwood Canyon (15 minutes from Downtown Salt Lake City). This was the last climbing trip we took before moving to Kansas. There may have been another - but alas, we did not bring a camera. Technically, we didn't bring a camera on this trip either; we are blessed with friends willing to record our life for us [Thanks, Pectol's!! We miss you!] ...

Anyway, aside from the thrill of climbing, the feel of loose chalk under our fingernails, the grittiness of the rock, the view at the top of the climb, the sound of our gear as we approach a route and the tightness of the rubber around our feet, what we miss most is the time together as a family. Most weekends, we could be found fishing or climbing ... Really, we still spend time together, we've just been doing different things. We are currently working hard to find other outdoor activities to enjoy. We still have our fishing poles and the Mrs. did read something about climbing grain silos ... With no mountains to obscure the view, a grain silo might prove to be the perfect spot for unconventional sight seeing ... Enjoy these pictures!

B is a pretty good climber. He's quite proud of his climbing gear, especially the shoes. He calls them his monkey shoes.
One day, the monkey shoes will be passed down to our Baby Girl; here she is intently observing her brother ...

We love climbing at Lisa Falls because when we get too warm, we can step up to the waterfall for a refreshing cool down.
