3 1/2 weeks of Saturdays

3 1/2 weeks of Saturdays and what did we do?
You know what happened at Christmas and a little about our New Year, so now it's time for more information.
We went to Kansas City, not once, twice or even three times, we went four times and fell in love (with the city that is.)
...............
The first time, we went to Cabela's and Legends Mall. With prodding from the Mr., the Mrs. now owns a pair of "ruby red slippers" ...
Proper considering the locale. The best part? The price: 12 bones!

The second time we went to Kansas City, our friends showed us the way to Union Station and the Crown Center.

We went to Science City ...

A 3-D IMAX movie ...

Train Museum, Hallmark Card Visitors Center and saw some other cool stuff, like this Gingerbread House exhibit ...

On our third visit, we met up with another set of friends
and with them, explored the Crown Center and Union Station even more.

We also ate at a locally recommended BBQ restaurant called Jack Stack (yummy).
B really liked it because he was able to drink root beer from a bottle ...

The fourth time, we went back to Union Station, played at Science City ...

and watched a Planetarium show. We ate brunch at a place visited by Guy Fieri of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (Triple D).
The Mr. decided we will be revisiting Momma's 39th Street Diner often.
This time, we also found directions to the River District. There, among other great markets was an Asian Market,
the likes of which are unseen in Topeka. We relished our find and replenished our pantry with delicious, inexpensive Asian food.
..............................

The cream of this visit was our drive to Independence where we toured the Visitors Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
The place is peaceful and, for a little while, we felt at home because it reminded us of another often visited place: Temple Square.

So, Kansas City = 4. Fishing Trips = 3. Zoo Trips = 2. Ice Skating = 1. Vomiting kids = 2 (just to see if you were still reading).
Fun = endless.

There you have it ... 25 days of Saturdays, packaged and reported in one blog entry.

  3. Wow, fun! You will have to convince Todd to take me. Me and the man have moved six times, always at least 1000 miles from the previous stay, and he says, "Kansas City? Thats SO farrrrr." Boo on him. I'll show him this and maybe it'll convince him. I'm glad you had fun because now=law school again=no fun husband anymore.
