Hurt or something like it

A few nights ago during dinner:
.........
B: "My ankle hurts, I can't eat anymore."
Mom: "I'm sorry."

PAUSE

Mom: "B, where's your ankle?"
B: "I don't know."

Mom and Dad: "Eat your dinner."
Impressive attempt, B. We see what you're doing.

    Kayla just did the same thing recently. Only she learned it from watching The Brady Bunch of all things. When I asked her to pick up her toys she said "I can't, I hurt my ankle, like Bobby." I just told her "Nice try."
