Today was busy. Fact. This week was busy. Another fact. Tonight I came home worried. Worried because it was late (7:00 pm), my Mr. was at school and we never made time to put together Easter baskets. I'm not sure if it's been said, but we usually try to make holidays - particularly Easter and Christmas - magical. Not magical in the sense that there are presents galore ... but magical in the sense that something happens. Something unexpected. Something surprising. Something to express the importance of the occasion and teach virtuous principles to our precious children. I decided to get the children ready for bed. I didn't know how I was going to surprise them. We have no family here to watch them. Most of our friends have children to watch over. My Mr. has a brief due on Monday and wasn't planning to come home until 2 am ... There were obstacles to overcome and I was discouraged. So ...
I said a prayer. A prayer to find a way to get the Easter baskets put together. I said a prayer and a few minutes later ...
My phone rang.
It was my Mr. He didn't call to say hello or to say he was finished. He called to ask ...
"Could you come pick me up? I thought I'd come home, help put the children to bed and stay home so you can go to the store and get Easter stuff."
Heavenly Father answers prayers. Jesus is His Son. Jesus was resurrected on the third day. Tomorrow. EASTER: A MIRACULOUS and magical day ... made even more magical because my Mr. decided to call.
this is a very sweet story, one to keep in the journal. Any law family understands that this is a miracle...expecially when the brief is due SOON.

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that it worked out! We thought of you a few times during Stake Conference last night and this morning. It gives new meaning to that Primary song that goes, "I'm so glad when Daddy comes home!"
