I'm back!

I was at Girls Camp last week.  I don't have many pictures to show because I didn't want to bring my camera and expose it to rain and humidity for the 6 days I lived in a tent.  These pictures are from a canoe trip I headed up for the 15 year old girls (our guide used his waterproof camera).  We had a blast!  Something that struck me about the canoe trip was the forecast:  60% chance of rain.  It had rained, heavily, nearly everywhere else, but not on the river on which we were paddling.  All the men, including our guide were surprised it didn't rain ... I'll say this:  Heavenly Father loves His girls and He wants them to love the creations around them.  We prayed for no rain while we were canoeing and it happened.  Because of that, we saw a view of the Delaware and Kansas Rivers most of us hadn't.  It was a great experience, one the girls called:  Their best camp experience yet ... Here are some pictures:

The Mr. and I stayed in the rear so we could help the girls who struggled:

Our guide took us to a swimming hole, where we were able to jump out of this tree (we got muddy on the way up and clean when we jumped back into the water):

Right after the prayer was said to end Girls Camp 2010, the leaders in charge asked me if I would come back and do it again in 2011.  Do I want to be gone from my family and children for 6 days; sleep in a tent; use up a bottle of bug spray to deter ticks, chiggers and mosquitoes; be surrounded by stifling humidity and torrential downpours; experience a tornado watch knowing the closest basement is several minutes away; and fall asleep hoping the lightning won't strike my tent or the trees surrounding it so I don't become a morning news headline ("Camp Leader Fried to death during sleep:  Sleeping in a tent during a lightning storm, unrecommended, experts say")?  My answer?  Probably not.  But for these girls:  SURE!!  We were protected through faith and prayer.  All of our fears were dissipated as each storm passed, more quietly than predicted.  So, I guess, in about a year ... You'll be seeing another post similar to this.
