B was really excited this morning (isn't he a handsome kid??) ...
The excitement was transparent in his smile and his willingness to pose in front of a decorated bulletin board on the morning of the busiest day of school, in front of throngs of "upper classmates". I'm not sure if he will allow such a display of parental embarrassment in the future, so I'll take what I can get.
We don't know if there was a mistake in the books (perhaps ignorance played a part), but somehow, B and his friend were placed in the same class. I'm pretty excited about the situation. These two boys get along really well.
Here is B with his teacher, Mrs. Garcia. We're really excited to have him in her classroom this year and we're anxious to see how he progresses.
B said he had fun today. In two weeks, when reading groups start and the real fun begins, I'll tell you what he really thinks. I doubt his opinion will change; he really likes to learn and he thinks being a first grader is pretty cool.

Ah! First grade! He has grown a lot and how fun to be with friends. Rylan starts a week from Monday
