He's 7 and can do stuff

When I asked him what he liked about being 7, B said:  "I can do stuff."

Yes, yes you can, B.


Here is a collage of that moment ... you know the moment.  That part, when kids open presents and realize it's something cool.  That "moment" is the reason why I love giving people gifts.  I'm sure it's more than that ...


His cake this year consisted of a layer of fudge chocolate cake and milk chocolate cake on top and a layer of cream cheese chocolate frosting in the middle.  The whole thing was covered in caramel frosting.  It was delicious.  So delicious.  Everything on it was B's choice.


B can do a lot of stuff.  He can read, write, add, subtract, count money, tell us the time on an analog clock, play soccer, shoot a basket and go across the monkey bars.  He helps his little sister and his parents.  We are surprised by how little he complains and amazed by how altruistic he is.  He likes to serve and does his best at most everything he does.
