The Mr. found a "treasure" today. He found it while he was fishing on the bank of a river. He believes it was lost and floated down from upriver ... From what I can tell, he's right. He kept it because in his words, "The crank still worked." I probably wouldn't have touched it, but that's me. My passion for fishing is ... who am I kidding ... My passion for fishing rests in EATING the fish. Fishing is fun and all, but the Filipino in me always wonders if the wriggly thing at the end of the line would be good with rice.
I didn't notice the treasure because I was on the phone. I finally noticed something was going on when I saw the Mr. with bucket and sponge in hand (my first thought: Ooh! Is he cleaning something for me?!).
Me: "What are you doing?"
My Mr.: "Cleaning my treasure."
Me: "What treasure? You have a treasure?"
My Mr.: "Yup. It's in the basement."
So clean it he did. So far, it looks good. Don't get me wrong, it's not perfect. Still, for a riverbank find, it's pretty good. B was impressed. In fact, he is still in the basement watching the Mr. scrub down the treasure.
Even Little Miss was interested. She, like me, decided it best not to touch the thing. Whatever works, right??
For those of you who know what tomorrow brings to our household, you might be asking yourselves one question: The BAR is tomorrow, why is he fishing?!
I confess: the idea was mine. Fishing relaxes the Mr. I suggested he go for an hour or two in the afternoon, after he closed his books. He didn't fish very long, but hopefully, it was enough. (Apparently, it was enough to find an old fishing pole - er, "treasure".)
..................
He just walked up the stairs with his treasure and you know what ... I feel like I should remove the question mark in the title (and all the quotations), because he was right ... It cleaned up really well:
And judging by his smile ... HE KNOWS IT.
Haha, way to go John! Hope all went well with the bar!
