Let us devote today, Memorial Day,
To those who heeded Freedoms call.
Let us retell the tales... Lest We Forget,
That all gave some, and some gave all.

Today, we toured the National World War I Museum in Kansas City. It is a special place where a person, if willing, can experience the rollercoaster of emotion that accompanies war. On the drive to Kansas City, our family talked about the importance of Memorial Day and why it was important for us to spend it remembering those who've gone before and those who gave their life for our freedom. It was either myself or the Mr. who asked this question, but it doesn't matter who asked, just that is was done ... "B, why do you think it's important to remember people who died?" B: "Because we love them." My eyes watered at that response and that's how I was while walking through the museum. (I can be such a sap. BUT, the Mr. did say that the emotion there was palpable.)
After the fun in Kansas City, we returned home. The boys went night fishing and the girls stayed home. Little Miss and I painted our toenails, she chose the color of our nail polish and I chose a movie, Anastasia. The Mr. and B had fun catching bass and a turtle. We had a great day spending time with each other and being grateful for those who gave their lives so we can peacefully enjoy ours.

We love going there. In fact, we went last Memorial Day. Glad you had a good time.
